Forfeit Policy

There are two different types of Forfeits recognized by the MAC. Forfeits are recorded within the CMS system. Match Forfeits and Administrative Forfeits are defined below.

Match Forfeits occur when the match is played but a team agrees to forfeit, or when the game is cancelled entirely for non-weather/field related reasons. Match Forfeits are recorded as a 28-0 (4 converted trys) win for the non-offending side and will receive the full 5 points in the CMS system. The offending side will receive a -1 penalty in the CMS system. These Forfeits are subject to consideration for a club’s relegation to a lower division, and to being barred from playoffs in the current competitive cycle. Any club that incurs two or more Match Forfeits will be automatically relegated to the lower division.

Any club that incurs a Match Forfeit, when a match does not take place at all, shall be subject to either or both:

  1. the financial penalties of their respective GU
  2. will be scheduled to travel to the opponent’s field twice in the following competition cycle.

Administrative Forfeits are imposed on a club due to a policy violation, either CIPP or CMS violations. Administrative Forfeits are not subject to relegation or barring a team from playoffs. Admin Forfeits are recorded as a 28-0 (4 converted trys) win for the non-offending side and will receive the full 5 points in the CMS system. The offending side will receive a -1 penalty in the CMS system.
